Institutional Equities
McAdams Wright Ragen maintains an Agency Equity Trading Desk, staffed by experienced, professional traders. This desk provides execution services to both institutional accounts and our retail brokers. We use varying methods of execution using ECNs and Algos, based on how an individual stock trades, taking into account its liquidity and volatility.
The institutional trading desk provides all trading related services to our institutional sales force. We handle all equity trading activities generated by the recommendations of our research analysts and sales team.
We also help facilitate trades for our own retail brokers who have direct phone access to the desk. These trades usually involve large block orders or illiquid, listed and OTC, securities. In addition, we handle public company buyback orders (which are subject to complex regulatory restrictions).
The trading desk also functions as the Syndicate Department. We disseminate all information regarding offerings that MWR is involved in, either as an underwriter or selling group member. This activity has increased measurably since we are now included in many deals made available through our clearing firm, National Financial Services LLC, Member NYSE, SIPC.
